And we’re back!
It’s been a busy summer for Broadway DNA, where our mission to connect new theatre to international opportunities has taken us from Louisiana to Czechia. Take a peek below for some highlights and an exclusive look at what’s next for us as our producing and licensing programs continue to grow. Back to our regularly scheduled global theatre IP newsletters soon!
Home’s Kitchen makes New Orleans world premiere ahead of NYC and global productions
The inaugural production of Broadway DNA’s innovative international new works licensing incubator, the new play Home’s Kitchen by Maeve Aurora Chapman premiered at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts in June 2024 ahead of NYC and global productions (and yes, it features localized recipe live cooking on stage!).
Set on the cusp of the 2015 Supreme Court decision, this original, contemporary world premiere play focuses on a celebrity chef estranged from his daughter, fearful of coming out and embracing who he really is. Raised under a Catholic mindset, both father and daughter must learn to accept themselves and the changing world around them in order to save their crumbling relationships to career, love, and each other. Making its world premiere over New Orleans Pride Weekend, Home's Kitchen is a story of home, passion, and food for the soul. Follow the play’s global journey @homeskitchenplay and www.homeskitchenplay.com.
